Winging Scapula

Winging Scapula

Winging Scapula is a condition in which the shoulder blade (scapula) protrudes away from the back instead of lying flat against the chest wall. It is usually caused by weakness or paralysis of the muscles that stabilise the shoulder blade, often due to injury or dysfunction of the surrounding nerves. This can lead to shoulder pain, weakness, reduced range of motion, and difficulty with lifting the arm or performing overhead activities. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and the severity of the condition.
