Sprained ankles

An ankle sprain is where the ligaments in your ankle are overstretched or partially torn, these generally being caused by a traumatic event such as going over on your ankle. Pain, stiffness and instability can last for many months and even years without adequate treatment and rehabilitation.

Sprained ankles Treatment in the early stages involves pain management and a quick return to full movement. It is then progressed to include release of tight soft tissue, mobilisations of stiff joints and rehabilitation exercises specific to your needs, be it walking to the shops or playing high level sport.
