Tennis elbow

Pain that lies at the bony point on the outside of the elbow. Seen in tennis players and other racquet sports due to impact from back hand strokes It can occur in people who perform repeated twisting movements of the hand and wrist. Many computer users can often develop tennis elbow and therefore clinically, the term 'lateral epicondalgia/epicondilitis' may be used. Symptoms include pain when grasping and progressive weakening in grip strength.

Assessment will include examining posture when sitting at a computer and techniques used in racquet sports. It is also important to examine the neck and mid back as a possible source of pain.

Treatment involves therapeutic ultrasound, acupuncture, deep tissue massage, manipulations, taping techniques and strengthening exercises to the upper limb along with posture retraining. .
